When I first read this book I was hooked from the very first page!
Cassandra Clare is such a talented writer who takes the ordinary streets of New York and completely transforms it into her own world. She has such a vivid way of story telling that you can just picture everything that you are being told and be transported into such a beautiful world.
This story is such a good book that leaves the reader just wanting more; you never want the book to actually end.
The characters are so relatable and you become very attached to them. They are normal teenagers but with hidden secrets and complicated love stories. It’s such a compelling book.

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons--and keeping the odd werewolves and vampires in line. It's also her first meeting with gorgeous, golden-haired Jace. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in an ordinary mundane like Clary? And how did she suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know....
